A police chase from Gorman to Eastland -- during which shots were fired -- ended with a crash.

Eastland police said two people were being questioned about a possible burglary at First Baptist Church in Gorman.

One of them -- Yahel Eliyah McDaniel, 27, of Cisco -- ran and tried to steal a vehicle from the church’s parking lot.

The owner of that vehicle fought McDaniel off.

McDaniel then ran down the street where police said he stole a pickup and took off on Highway 6 toward Eastland.

The Texas Department of Public Safety, Eastland County Sheriff's Office and Gorman Police chased McDaniel

A trooper said McDaniel fired shots from the driver’s side window.

The chase came to an end when a trooper used his vehicle to stop the truck and the two collided around 10:37 a.m. at the intersection of N. Seaman and W. Moss St.

The Texas Rangers are investigating.
