Police investigating after 16-year-old shot, killed in San Angelo

SAN ANGELO, Texas — A 16-year-old was shot and killed Monday in San Angelo.

According to a press release, officers arrived at a home in the 1300blk of Tres Rios just before 10pm to find a 16-year-old suffering from a gunshot wound near the middle of their torso.

Officers administered first aid until medics were able to transport them to a local hospital. The teen succumbed to their injuries.

Preliminary investigations indicate the shooting was accidental, but the investigation is still ongoing.
