JONES COUNTY, Texas — A Taylor County Deputy lost his home last night after a possible tornado hit Jones County.
Deputy Gall and his wife, who is a dispatcher for the Taylor County Sheriff's Office, lost their home yesterday evening. The mother of the deputy, Becky Gall, said "They said they were in the mobile home when they felt that shakes so they grabbed their dogs and they went to go out the front door and as they opened it, the front porch flew off. And immediately they hit the ground and held each other. And then the house rolled three times into their pond."
A GoFundMe has been started for the family to cover costs.
Becky was relieved to find out her son was alright. She said, "It just made my heart relieved to know that you know, he is truly okay. Because you know you hear what happened but you really don't know until you speak to him. Are they okay? Because usually when it comes to moms, they want to sugarcoat everything, not tell you how seriously it is because they don't want you to worry. But he he promised me he was okay. And I'm here now to see it and he's, he's okay."
The outpouring of love from the community has left Becky feeling grateful. "I think that is just very amazing and generous and kind and I'm so appreciative and grateful for it, that there's still people out there willing to help others. You know. Sometimes in today's world, it's hard to find that stuff. So I'm grateful."
