Two people have died following a head-on crash that took place on Farm to Market Road 45 in Brown County Tuesday evening.

According to a press release, Kelly Caldwell, 53, of Brownwood, and Michael Wiser, 64, of Lorena were traveling north on Farm to Market Road 45 in a 2008 Dodge, Ram 1500 pickup towing a semi-trailer when they veered left across the center dividing stripe into and across the southbound lane to the shoulder of the roadway.

Jessie Banuelos, 38, of Lorena, was traveling south on Farm to Market Road 45 in a 2006 Chevrolet, Silverado 1500 pickup, and drove onto the southbound shoulder of the road to avoid Caldwell and Wiser. That's when the Ram 1500 struck Banuelos' pickup head-on.

Both Michael Wiser and Kelly Caldwell were pronounced dead shortly after the crash. Jessie Banuelos is currently being treated for a serious injury.

No parties involved were reported to be wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
