ABILENE, Texas — A man charged in the fatal road rage shooting of 17-year-old David Castro was sentenced to 30 years in prison this week.
Authorities said Castro along with his father and brother were leaving a Houston Astros game when the teen’s father Paul Castro exchanged hand gestures with Gerald Williams.
Police said Williams was driving aggressively and swerving around vehicles when he got stuck in traffic.
He followed the Castro family for several miles before shooting at the Castro’s truck as they exited the freeway.
David was shot in the head and later died at the hospital.
Williams pled guilty to murder Tuesday in exchange for a 30 year sentence.
The storybook capital of the world is getting a little more magical next week.
The Abilene Cultural Affairs Council will be unveiling newly updated pedestrian tunnels that will connect the Abilene Cultural District to the SoDA district.
Both tunnels were upgraded with lighting features and one has a 3D mural depicting a dragon and a castle to match the storybook theme.
The lighting ceremony is set to take place next Thursday at 2pm.
