Woman dies during surgery, man found dead inside home after apparent murder-suicide
CONVERSE, Texas - Two people are dead in what appears to be a murder-suicide.
The tragic incident started around 1:15 a.m. Wednesday when a 26-year-old man called 911 and said he had shot his girlfriend in the leg. He then said he was going to kill her and then himself.
Bexar County Sheriff's deputies arrived at the home off Hickory Ridge Drive near O'Connor Road with their tactical unit and surrounded the house. They made contact with the man inside the home, but after several hours, he stopped taking calls. After that, the decision was made to forcefully enter the home where they found the man dead of a suspected self-inflicted gunshot.
The 23-year-old woman was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries after being shot multiple times. Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar confirmed that she died during surgery.
Authorities are still investigating the incident.
