Woman hit, killed by big rig while changing tire on I-20 in Callahan County

BAIRD, Texas — A woman was hit and killed by a big rig while changing a tire on I-20 in Callahan County.

According to DPS, Joselyn Ortega, 27, of Haltom City, had a flat tire about 7 p.m. Wednesday.

She stopped her 2012 Chrysler 300 in the center median, about three miles east of Baird.

While changing the tire, she was hit by a tractor trailer headed westbound in the inside lane.

Ortega was pronounced dead at the scene.
