Deputies are investigating the shooting of 10 alpacas in an unincorporated community in Washington state.

Around 1 p.m. on May 26, the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) said it received a report from a Joyce resident saying someone shot and killed 10 of her alpacas the night before. A veterinarian was called to the scene and confirmed the animals were killed with a small-caliber weapon, deputies said.

The CCSO launched a felony investigation for first-degree animal cruelty.

Deputies ask anyone with information to call 360-417-2459 (option 1).
