ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHAM) — Two teenagers face charges for a massive warehouse fire in New York that damaged nearby homes, flooded properties and displaced some neighbors nearly three months ago.
The five-alarm fire erupted March 13 in Rochester and destroyed the 52,000-square-foot warehouse. It also caused damage to multiple homes, totaling more than $1 million.
Investigators determined three juveniles, ages 8, 14 and 15, entered the warehouse, poured flammable liquid onto a pillow and lit it on fire.
The two teens are charged with arson and were issued appearance tickets.
The 8-year-old cannot be charged under New York state law and was turned over to his parents.
