Man falls to his death on way to father's funeral in middle Tennessee
GILES COUNTY, Tenn. (WZTV) - A man has died after falling off a bridge in Giles County while he was on his way to his father's funeral.
James Johnson, 30, died after falling off a bridge along Highway 64 near the Five Points area.
It happened June 7 when the Giles County Sheriff's Office said Johnson was on the way to the funeral. His father had recently died in Giles County.
Johnson had apparently blown out a tire on his vehicle and stopped on the bridge. While waiting for the tire to be replaced by another person, police said he was on the "edge of the bridge looking over and lost his balance."
EMS transported Johnson to an emergency room where he was later pronounced dead.
The investigation is ongoing pending autopsy and toxicology results.
