San Angelo police arrest man for robbing homeless couple at gunpoint

A homeless couple was robbed after being offered a night away from the cold, Monday night.

Police were called to Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo after a report of an assault victim.

Albert Garcia met the couple while they were panhandling at the Stripes Convenience Store on 1606 La Follette Street, off 277 in San Angelo.

Garcia offered the couple a place to stay to get out of the cold. Garcia then went with the couple to a nearby bank to withdraw money.

Once they got to Garcia's residence, he allegedly pointed a gun at them, threatening to kill them.

Garcia faces two counts of aggravated robbery.
