CONROE, Texas (AP) - Police say three suspects have been arrested in a Houston-area jewelry store robbery attempt that left a suspect dead during a shootout with employees.
Conroe police on Thursday announced the arrest of three men on aggravated robbery charges in the Oct. 3 holdup. Authorities also identified the suspect who was killed as 21-year-old Javian Deon Jackson of Houston.
Conroe police say four armed men, dressed in black, entered the Jeff's Jewelry store during a holdup attempt and tried to break some display cases.
Investigators say the robbers also demanded jewelry, purses and other valuables before a shootout began with store workers. No customers or employees were hurt.
Three suspects ran out of the store and fled in a car.
