Crews battle structure fire in North Amarillo
AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) —
UPDATE: 1:57 p.m.
The Amarillo Fire Marshall's were unable to determine the cause of this morning's fire in the 1300 block of N. Tyler.
According to CPT. Larry Davis, crews arrived on scene at about 9:50 a.m. and found a small apartment in the back yard of 1302 N. Tyler fully involved with heavy fire. An electrical power line running from the alley to the building had burned and fallen on top of the apartment. The line was arcing and created a secondary hazard for firefighters.
Crews were able to put the fire out and called it under control at about 10:15 a.m. but had to wait for Xcel Energy to cut the power in the alley before they could search for possible occupants.
No occupants were found and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire was ruled as undetermined.
Damages have been estimated at $25,000.
Amarillo fire crews are working to put a structure fire at NW 11th and Tyler.
According to CPT. Larry Davis, they received the call at about 9:45 a.m. The fire was called under control at about 10:15 a.m. after six units were on scene battling the flames.
No injuries were believed to be sustained.
