Man arrested for allegedly stealing ambulance, causing pursuit


    Tevyn Traivon Reed was placed under arrest and charged with Theft of Property

    A man was arrested for allegedly stealing an ambulance and causing a pursuit in northwest El Paso on Monday, according to police.

    Officers said 27-year-old Tevyn Traivon Reed of Seminole, took a Life Ambulance from the Providence Transmountain Hospital around 4:36 p.m.

    Police said Reed drove the ambulance with the emergency lights on over Transmountain.

    Officers saw the vehicle heading west on Transmountain, when Reed refused to stop and drove into the The Outlet Shoppes at El Paso, and then back on the roadway.

    Officers were assisted by DPS when the ambulance was stopped in the 6300 block of Doniphan.

    Reed was arrested and charged with theft of property, evading arrest or detention with vehicle and failure to identify giving false/fictitious information.

    Reed was booked into the El Paso County Jail on a bond of $40,300.
