Man dies in evening car fire in Laguna Vista

One man died in a car fire in Laguna Vista on Wednesday evening.

Tony David, Chief of Police for the Laguna Vista Police Department, said that just after 6:30 p.m., authorities were called out to a report of a vehicle fire on State Texas Highway 100, west of Laguna Heights.

David said when authorities arrived on the scene, the fire had fully engulfed the vehicle and the man was found dead.

Authorities have not released his name but said he is believed to be an older individual and a local resident in Laguna Vista.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
