One woman is dead after two vehicle crash in Gray County
GRAY COUNTY, Texas (KVII) —
On May 18, The Texas Department of Public Safety was sent to a two-vehicle crash on I-40 in Gray County.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety media release, "At approximately 11:40 p.m., Martha Harrison, 56, of El Paso, was driving a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck east on I-40, approximately two miles west of McLean, when she struck a deer in the roadway. Harrison stopped in the right hand lane and remained in the vehicle. Moments later, she was rear ended by a 2006 Freightliner truck tractor semi-trailer driven by Sean Yi, 40, of Rowland Heights, California. Upon impact, Harrison’s vehicle caught fire."
Gray County Justice of the Peace Joe Martinez pronounced Harrison dead on the scene.
Yi was not injured in the crash.
Both Harrison and Yi were wearing seat belts.
At this time, the crash remains under investigation.
