Police say death of man found under I-35 bridge in S. Austin not suspicious

AUSTIN, Texas — UPDATE: Police say this death is not considered suspicious.

Austin Police is on scene of a suspicious death in south Austin Sunday afternoon.

Authorities say they received a 9-1-1 call from a passerby who found a man unresponsive under the bridge at the 5500 block of south I-35, near East Stassney Lane.

Austin-Travis County EMS responded to the same address an hour earlier to initial reports of a person “next to a creek under I-35” in cardiac arrest. An adult male was declared deceased on scene.

Police state they found trauma on the body but could not offer details. A spokesman says this incident does not appear to be water or flood related.
