A new radio ad from Sen. Ted Cruz mocks Democratic challenger Rep. Beto O'Rourke's name--in the form of a song parody.

The 60-second ad released by Cruz's campaign is set to the tune of Alabama's "If You're Gonna Play in Texas (You Gotta Have a Fiddle in the Band)."

The song, tweeted out by Cruz, features the line "I remember reading stories, Liberal Robert wanted to fit in, so he changed his name to Beto and hid it with a grin."

"He's not setting the tone for even the Republican Party in this state anymore, so it may be competitive in the fall, but you do have to believe that Cruz's allies in the Republican Party are going to help him," said analyst Scott Braddock from the Quorum Report.

O'Rourke's birth name is Robert Francis O'Rourke, but says he's gone by Beto since he was born.

It's also worth noting that Ted Cruz's given name is Rafael Edward Cruz.
