This student's artwork is too good to be placed on the fridge!

Aubree Rice Gonzalez, a kindergarten student from Southside ISD's Menchaca Early Childhood Center, will have her artwork displayed in the Rotunda of the State Capitol of Texas this March.

Aubree's picture, entitled "My Family" is a drawing with water colors of her family standing outside their home on a bright, sunny day. The Texas Art Education Association chose artwork from students in 60 school districts, but hers was the only one picked from San Antonio. In other words, Aubree's picture will represent Southside ISD but the city of San Antonio as well!

The campus art teacher, Ms. Tyra Gonzalez (no relation) previously submitted artwork that attains statewide recognition.

A special reception will be held this March in honor of Aubree, her family, and her teacher in Austin, Texas.
