ABILENE, Texas — ACU's football schedule for the coming season has been modified to accommodate for two schools departing the Western Athletic Conference earlier than planned.
The dates and opponents for the Wildcats' five home games remain as previously announced, but two conference road games were moved to new dates and another away contest was scheduled.
ACU will now play Stephen F. Austin twice in 2022. The Wildcats will head to Nacogdoches on October 8 in addition to the originally scheduled game in Abilene on November 19.
The game in Nacogdoches will not count as a WAC game.
ACU's game at Tarleton has been moved to November 5, and the contest at Sam Houston will now be played on November 12.
The schedule changes were promoted by Lamar and Incarnate Word both unexpectedly leaving the WAC to return to the Southland Conference this summer.
ACU was able to keep its game against Lamar, though it will now be a non-conference match-up. The original game against UIW was dropped from the schedule.
