Abilene High assistant coach Lee Fletcher has been promoted to head baseball coach for the Eagles.

Fletcher succeeds Ryan Lewis, who resigned in May to become head baseball coach of Jim Ned High School. In addition to having experience as a head coach in the high school ranks, Fletcher previously worked on the staffs of three different college programs, including Abilene Christian University.

He has been the Eagles’ varsity assistant baseball coach for the past five years. Before arriving at AHS in 2011, Fletcher was head coach at Muleshoe High School for three years.

Fletcher served as an assistant coach at ACU from 2002-06 and at the University of Montevallo (Alabama) from 2001-02. He was a graduate assistant for one year at his alma mater, Faulkner University in Alabama, where he was a four-year pitcher and a 2000 graduate.
