Hamlin's Cutter Martin is the KTXS/Abilene Teachers Federal Credit Union Player of the Week.

The sophomore Pied Piper caught 3 interceptions on defense, then 2 receptions for 57 yards and a touchdown on offense in their 47-0 win over Cross Plains.

Martin's views on the game go past his personal achievements.

"It was really great getting the three interceptions because before that game I didn't have a single one. But it's also great having those ten other guys that'll make plays for you. Our defensive line started getting great pressure which was allowing me the opportunity to intercept the passes that I did," said Martin.

Head coach Russell Lucas is getting used to his players stepping up when needed.

"Cutter had a great week. Every week it seems like we have somebody different that steps up and make those kind of plays. They were kind of picking on him or throwing in his direction and he took advantage of that and made some great plays so we're real proud of him," said Lucas.

Hamlin will put its undefeated record up against the Albany Lions for the district title in Albany on November 9, at 7 p.m.
