The Arizona Cardinals are reportedly finalizing a deal to sign former Texas Tech head coach Kliff Kingsbury to become the team's new head coach.

Kingsbury, 39, will take over a Cardinals team that finished with the league's worst record (3-13), the 25th ranked scoring offense and 26th in scoring defense. Arizona will be on the clock with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.

Kingsbury spent six years with Texas Tech, finishing with a 35-40 overall record and 19-35 mark in the Big 12. Under Kingsbury, the Red Raiders had three consecutive losing seasons. He was fired in late November.

Texas Tech began last season season 5-2, but ended the year with five straight losses. The Red Raiders' 35-24 loss to Baylor Saturday prevented the program from securing bowl eligibility.
