Spurs' Kawhi Leonard named to USA Basketball's 2018-20 roster
San Antonio Spurs forward Kawhi Leonard has been named to USA Basketball's 2018-20 roster which will be led by Gregg Popovich who'll be serving as the team's Head Coach.
Leonard had a previous stint with Team USA in 2016 but withdrew his name from consideration for the 2016 USA Basketball Men’s National Team.
"This was a very difficult decision. It's an honor to have been considered for the team and I hope that in the future I will have the chance to represent my country by playing for USA Basketball."
Leonard has been dealing with a nagging right quad injury that has all but kept him out of action this 2017-18 NBA season except for nine games.
Popovich will also be elading Team USA in the upcoming 2020 Olympic Games and will be first with the team.
