Lindsey Ragas is the weekend anchor and city reporter for KTXS News. She joined the news team in July 2016.
Lindsey grew up in Cerritos, Calif. and is excited to start her career in Abilene, Texas. She graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast and Electronic Communication Arts from San Francisco State University.
While attending school in San Francisco, she interned at KRON 4 News at the assignment desk, where she pitched story ideas for the 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. newscast and conducted on-camera interviews while shadowing reporters in the field. During her senior year, she interned at ABC affiliate KGO-TV in the Seven On Your Side department. Here she had the opportunity to pitch sweeps story ideas and conduct on-camera interviews for the Seven On Your Side reporter.
Lindsey also reported and anchored for the school's newscast, State of Events, which aired weekly on a San Francisco television station. While she juggled internships and class, Lindsey also ran Cross Country and Track for the Gators at San Francisco State University.
Lindsey decided she wanted to pursue Journalism at a young age. In middle school, she came across an ABC7 news reporter preparing for a live shot in a local neighborhood. After watching the news reporter, she then knew that a career in journalism was what she wanted to pursue. Lindsey has a passion for writing and storytelling and hopes to impact KTXS viewers with interesting and relevant stories on a daily basis.
When Lindsey is not reporting, she enjoys working out at the gym and spending time with her friends and family.
