Mark Rowlett

Chief Meteorologist


Mark Rowlett joined KTXS as chief meteorologist in August of 2009.

He has the American Meteorological Society’s Certified Broadcast Meteorologist seal.

Mark was born and raised in Corpus Christi.

Mark attended Texas A&M University in College Station and earned his bachelor's degree in meteorology.

While doing post-graduate work in meteorology, he began his television career in Bryan, Texas, at KBTX-TV.

His first move to Louisiana came was to Lafayette to work at KLFY-TV as weekend and morning meteorologist.

Mark moved to East Texas to work at KETK as the station's first chief meteorologist.

While working in Tyler, Mark earned a Master of Public Administration Degree from the University of Texas at Tyler.

Mark moved to Louisiana again to work at KTBS-TV in Shreveport.

In addition to bringing weather forecasts to the ArkLaTex, Mark taught geography courses at LSU Shreveport for three years.

Mark has been married to Carrie over 40 years. They have two daughters whom are married and live in Texas.
